Nursery Time

Hello there! Please be patient with me as I start to get the hang of blogging. As I look back at how motherhood started, one of the most exciting steps was setting up the nursery! Luckily, we have a room that could be designed for just the baby. Not everyone has that, so I’ll keep this as open as possible.

Bassinet/Crib – First question that comes to mind is: where is the baby going to sleep? It is recommended for newborn babies to sleep in their own bassinet. As much as I would love to hold my baby and stay awake with him all night… mom needs some rest. We ordered two types of hardware for him. We got a bedside bassinet. For the first two months, he slept in this mobile newborn size bassinet we took with us from the bedroom to the kitchen and living room (https://amzn.to/4t9q8ZX). Once he started moving more at night, we moved him to a multifunction pack and play (https://amzn.to/4w2sjRy). We still continue to use the bedside bassinet as a changing table, so it wasn’t wasted money. Depending on how big the nursery room is and your design, I would feel comfortable with both.

Decoration – Being completely honest, I am not good decorating at all! My mom definitely kept all those genes because she’s great at it. What I am good at though, is shopping on Amazon. I found these easy to place and adjust wall stickers. I went with animals for the baseboard (https://amzn.to/4epTAHv) and stars for the upper part of the wall, just above the pack and play (https://amzn.to/4ud0ep4). The stars and planet stickers light up at night if they’ve had enough light during the day. Both of look great in his room! As our baby gets bigger, I have found him looking at them and from time-to-time I talk to him and explain what they are.

Organization – I feel like I’ve went on long enough for a blog post. Just to wrap things up here, I did want to share my biggest tool in his nursery, the dresser! The one I use doesn’t show currently available, but I did find one with all the quirks I like about mine. This dresser (https://amzn.to/4dgfiMT) is very convenient! It has plugs for the white noise/light machine and chargers. Also, the bottom drawers can be moved up and down as your baby starts to grow. I’ve already had to move drawers around as my baby is now wearing size 6-9-month clothes. It also has hanger options for the special occasion clothes and blankets. Just overall, one of my favorite purchases and multi-function items in the nursery!

The nursery room doesn’t have to be overcrowded. Just have to remember that this is just the start. Keep it simple and functional, everything else will come with time. All these items and more can be found in my amazon recommended items Linktree (https://linktr.ee/joissygrimaldo)!
